Payzone Wins Another Transport Contract

Latest News

Launching across all Payzone stores in the Strathclyde region, Payzone has won the exclusive contract with Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT). From July 2024, all retailers will be able to sell SPT ZoneCards in-store via an ITSO Smartcard top up solution.

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships and runs the Glasgow Subway, a host of specialist bus services and are responsible for delivering better public transport for all. Through the new contract with Payzone, SPT wanted to make sure that users of public transport across the Strathclyde region could easily purchase ZoneCards before travelling. This new solution will be rolled out to all Payzone retailers in the Strathclyde region to enable customers to travel easily across the region.

Customers wishing to purchase a ZoneCard will be able to do so at all Payzone stores in the Strathclyde region.

How does it work?

If you’re a Payzone retailer in the Strathclyde region, you can now offer ZoneCards to customers via selecting the transport app and opening the SPT tile on your Payzone Plus device. This is then loaded onto the customer's Smartcard.
