Meet Ramandeep

Ramandeep’s Story

Ramandeep’s shop is located just outside Cheadle town centre and for the last 18 months,
he has run A&C Stores with his wife. The store is near to a large estate and has always
attracted lots of passing trade. The fact that there is parking available at the front of the shop
also helps.

“When I took over the running of the store, I wanted to make sure that customers kept
on coming back.”

We asked Ramandeep why he joined Payzone.

Since taking over the shop, I have made it my mission to make sure that my store has
everything that my customers need. It’s so important that the community can access the
services they need and also find the groceries they want too.

I decided that I wanted to offer a bill payment service. Many people in the area need access
to over-the-counter payments. They top-up their gas and electricity and pay other bills too.

When British Gas signed an exclusive contract with Payzone in December, I wanted to make
sure that my customers had somewhere the could easily get to so that could continue to
top-up their British Gas metres. Lots of my customers reply on this service.

Continuing to facilitate British Gas top-ups has increased footfall to my store. It’s great
because people tend to pick up groceries when they visit too.

During the COVID pandemic, we seem to be welcoming new faces who use our Payzone
services, as not everyone has been able to access their usual stores.

I have continued to work hard to give my customers what they need. We have recently
introduced a delivery service due to the pandemic, so that we could continue to serve
everyone in the community, including the local care home.

I am happy that I joined Payzone and I am looking forward to seeing what other services
they introduce.
